Sunday, 3 August. Hamburg wins the 2008 Emirates Cup after a 3-0 win over Italy's Juventus. The German side gained 7 points after the match which allowed it to lift the tournament's trophy.

Italian champions Inter Milan, now under former Chelsea coach José Mourinho, win both the Franz Beckenbauer Cup and the Pirelli Trophy after a 1-0 victory over German champions and hosts Bayern Munich. Brazilian forward Mancini scored the only goal in the 52nd minute and during the trophy presentation he accidentally drops the smaller Pirelli Trophy shortly after removing it from its plinth.
