Also on Saturday, 17 May, Bayern Munich is crowned German champions for a record 21st time after a huge 4-1 win over Hertha Berlin at home courtesy of goals from Luca Toni (3, 27, 61) and Franck Ribéry (33). Bulgarian striker Valeri Domovchiyski scored Hertha's consolation goal in the 84th minute. This match also marked the end of the careers of both goalkeeper Oliver Kahn and coach Ottmar Hitzfeld, who will be managing the Switzerland national side after Euro 2008. Match referee Dr. Markus Merk also ended his career as well.
afraidtoshooteddie, I've just watched John Westwood's video. Its audio quality is bad and Westwood can be seen blowing his bugle and ringing his bell. He is accompanied by two boys beating drums and it's a bit humorous.

Sunday, 29 June. Germany's dream of becoming European champions for the 4th time shattered after losing to Spain 1-0 in the 2008 U.E.F.A. European Championship Final in Vienna, Austria. Fernando Torres scored the match's only goal in the 33rd minute, thus helping Spain to lift this year's European Championship for the 2nd time after a 44-year wait. ¡Que Viva España!
