Apparently there is a colony of hedgehogs living around the parking lot of the London Zoo and in Regent's Park.Good luck with that

They're allowed as pets in the state I currently live in but I don't know anyone with a hedgehog.
Some zoos have them but I can't recall ever seeing any.

It turns out they're only native to Europe, Africa, and Asia.
They're illegal to keep as pets in parts of the US. Where they are legal, you might need one or more permits to have them. You definitely need a permit to breed them.
They're illegal in my home state and there's a government agency that will raid your house and take your hedgehogs. They have been described as behaving like they're doing a major drug bust.

The story behind this picture is this guy's grandmother was taking care of some cats but she didn't realize one was actually a possum.
