The person i feel most sorry for in this whole thing is Ron Dennis. I really do believe he is a man of the highest integrity and i feel desperately sorry for him that his reputation and the reputation of McLaren as a whole has been totally destroyed by the actions of a few people :|

It's late, I'm tired.

What's happened to Stepney?

It was He who allegedly Stole from his own employers. He allegedly then offered this stolen information around.

McLaren Didn't steal the information, it was 'given' to a few select members of the squad, but the team as a whole are being punished. For a theft that wasn't their doing.

Like Rocky said , It takes two to tango.

And what happens now when drivers/mechanics/engineers switch employment to a different team. Obviously they are going to hold some knowledge of their machines, which is going to go with them to their new teams. Are they going to have to play dumb about what they learnt in their former teams for fear of being sued?

I'm going to bed.

Wake me when it's over.

.

Example..... In 1997 Adrian Newey left the then dominant Williams F1 team (on the back of Nigel Mansell, Alain Prost, Damon Hill and Jaques Villeneuve's Championships.), to go to McLaren ( :err: ).
A win at the 1997 European Grand Prix saw McLaren enter the off-season on a high, and when the racing resumed four months later the McLaren MP4/13 was the car to beat. Titles followed in 1998 and 1999, and Mika Häkkinen narrowly missed out on a third drivers title in 2000. :|
Is it a coincidence that Somebody privy to key information went from one team to another, and all of a sudden, the team's fortunes take an upturn?
No.
This has been happening in the sport for years.
As far as I can see, the only difference here is that McLaren didn't
employ the source of the information this time. :|

Just my :2c:

Bloody hell, as if things aren't bad enough already  :

Rally boss in helicopter escape
The Subaru rally team chief and his wife survived unhurt when their helicopter crash-landed in Essex.

Police said Dave Richards and his wife "walked out of the wreckage" near North Weald Airfield and were treated for shock by paramedics.

Mr Richards, is chief executive of Prodrive, which runs the Subaru World Rally Team.

He was in charge when Colin McRae, who has died in a helicopter crash in Lanarkshire, won his world rally title.

Mr Richards and his wife were returning to their home at Banbury, Oxfordshire, after attending the Belgian Grand Prix.

Mill Lane alongside the field where the wreckage lies has been sealed off awaiting the arrival of Air Accident Investigation Branch staff.

What is it with Aircraft at the moment?

Two planes crash landed last week or so, Two helicopters in the last 24 Hrs, and another plane has crashed in Phuket, Thailand :|

McLaren has dropped its appeal against its lost constructors' points at the
Hungarian Grand Prix in August, the FIA has confirmed.

The International Court of Appeal hearing was set to take place tomorrow
(Wednesday), but the Woking-based squad notified the governing body on
Tuesday of its decision to withdraw the appeal.

“At the qualifying session of the 2007 Hungarian Grand Prix, the Panel of
the Stewards of the meeting found that one of the Vodafone McLaren
Mercedes ("McLaren") drivers had obstructed another in the pit lane,”

“A penalty was imposed preventing McLaren from scoring points in the
constructors’ championship at that meeting.

Like they were ever gonna give em these points back LOL LOL LOL

Max Mosley says that the FIA will investigate any complaint it receives
from McLaren about Renault when the governing body receives an
expected report from the British team.

The FIA confirmed last week that McLaren had brought “certain matters
regarding Renault F1” to its attention, although it would not divulge the
nature of the query.

day running at Jerez, as Formula 1 closed the book on the 2007 testing
