Formula 1's on-going spy scandal has taken a sensational new twist after
the FIA announced on Wednesday that it is to re-open the investigation
into a breach of Article 151c of the International Sporting code by the
Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team.
The world championship leaders were found guilty at the previous hearing
of possessing confidential information belonging to Ferrari, but were not
punished because the FIA had insufficient evidence to prove that the team
had acted upon it in any way.
However the case, which was set for appeal on September 13, has now
been referred back to the World Motor Sport Council after the FIA
announced it had received new evidence on the matter.

The nature of the evidence, and it's origin, remains unclear, but should
McLaren be found guilty in the second hearing, then it could face
disqualification from the 2007 and 2008 world championships
.

:err:
As I've said before mate....No F1 fan would want to see one & a half seasons of 'Races' being a Ferrari procession every week (even though I personally can't see the point of three quarters of the grid being there as they have no chance)...including the biggest Ferrari fans in the world (which you are)....F1 needs bums on seats, TV audiences & above all £££££, & with the emergence of Hamilton its become more popular than many a year
It will be thrown out or there will be appeal after appeal until it is thrown out or a hefty fine is imposed instead of a ban.
Otherwise it will be pointless....like Maclaren will be

:withstupid:

Either way it will be a Ferrari.......
Or a McLaren Ferrrari that win the championship

There is no way that if your chief designer has the Ferrari specs to hand
and it is gonna make the car go faster then he is gonna just overlook it...
They sacked him but he aint gonna take the fast bits off the car is he :?
And if anyone at McLaren does know they aint gonna admit it coz it is
gonna mean 2 seasons out for them :|
The FIA aint gonna boot em out coz it aint good for the 'sport'
FFS they found em guilty last time and did fuck all....
So what makes this court case any different :?

So this year it will be a McLaren Ferrari Mercedes that will win the championship...

Fernando Alonso planned to lie down in front of Michael Schumacher’s car
on the starting grid at last year’s Monaco Grand Prix if the stewards did
not penalise the German for intentionally stopping his Ferrari at Rascasse
during qualifying.

I knew he was crazy :err:

McLaren has raised questions about the rival Renault team with Formula
1’s governing body, it emerged on Tuesday, as its own fate hangs in the
balance ahead of Thursday’s FIA World Motor Sport Council hearing into
the espionage case.

Rumours have been gathering pace since the Italian Grand Prix that the
Woking squad is planning to argue as part of its defence case that if it is
considered culpable and deserving of punishment then so should several
rival teams.

The FIA has confirmed that McLaren has brought “certain matters
regarding Renault F1” to its attention, but would not divulge the
nature of the query.
