Sadness

Dave Grohl Broke his leg

8 Days before I was due to see Foo Fighters @ Wembley Stadium :(

This happened to me too!

They refunded the tickets and then rescheduled for a date I couldn't make.

Saw them in 2011, though. It was mad great. All on YouTube, too.

Watch this every once in a while. Always great when a show you were at is available online. Too rare a thing.

To say I was gutted is an understatement :(
I saw em at Wembley in 2008... AMAZING
Dave Grohl seems such a nice down to earth guy....

Did you see that gig they played in Frome...
About 45 minutes away from me to announce they are playing Glastonbury....
All free... but I wasn't on the list

If they announced a gig the same date as I'm seeing Maiden in May...
I would find it very hard not to sell my ticket and go see the Foos :|

Phwoa. That would have been an experience.

Can't say I agree with the Maiden thing though. ;) I've only seen them twice, however. Gotta get in as many as possible before they wrap it up.

...Can't beat Foos live though...

That's a tough one. LOL

I know the stage production for Maiden is immense but the setlist is set in stone from day one..
That does annoy me somewhat... No surprises :(

That gig at Frome Dave was taking requests near the end!!
But you never know what the setlist is gonna be till you turn up...

Much like Metallica really....
But they can still fuck off with their ticket prices....

I must have had 35 emails today telling me the tickets are on sale :x :x :x :x

I have mad respect for bands that change it up night by night. Foos, being one of them. Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age come to mind, too.

I'm cautiously optimistic that Maiden will change the setlist for this upcoming leg of the tour. VERY cautious. LOL

But, like most bands, when stage production is that intense, they're unable to be as flexible with setlists. Double-edged sword. Then again, I don't know if Maiden want to be flexible? :?

Regardless, given the choice between the two, I'd take Maiden. Foo Fighters aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Don't know if the same can be said for Maiden. :edlighter:

I have to say Maidens last 2 or 3 albums haven't really inspired me much :(

I think they're still near the top of their game, musically.

A Matter of Life and Death is pretty incredible. Though, to be fair, I think that works better as a full album than it does as individual songs.

Final Frontier and Book of Souls are also pretty great, but Life and Death is fucking top-tier Maiden.

Although, I'd take When the Wild Wind Blows from Frontier over any track on Life and Death any day. LOL

And I've always felt Foos have a track record of good album, bad album, good album, bad album.

They're in the bad album period just now. :err:

Wasting Light, though. :edmetal:
