the problem however is that the rest of people will understand it in the way it was meant to be understood so we'll have a comminication breakdown :edmetal:

I'm not saying he is innocent, but imho Ronaldo played like a dirty bastard all through the world cup, he spent more time throwing himself to the floor than he did chasing the ball. And pressing the ref the way he did in an obviously pre-concieved attempt to get a player sent off was yet another low mark for him. But as it was against a player for my home nation he has made himself slightly less popular with me and many other English people :|

Still, at least he stopped short of stabbing himself on the pitch, like Roberto Rojas did a few years back :roll:
 
what i do not understand is this

did rooney deserve to be sent off for what he did - yes he did. so whats the big deal about cristiano ronaldo insisting with the refs on something rooney deserved

THAT IS THE PROBLEM :|

Players should keep away from the ref and not try to influence this.
This was another thing FIFA were gonna clamp down on and didn't,
along with diving and play acting :|

And they said they weren't using video evidence.

Call me a cynic, but there was a 5th official at every game watching the
TV feed.
That Argie ref on both occasions took an eternity to send off both Rooney
& Zidane.
They deny this 5th official wasn't involved :|

WTF WAS THE POINT OF HAVING HIM THERE THEN :?

Thats the point.........
He could have stayed in his hotel and watched the TV.

Why did they feel the need to have him sat on the sidelines watching it :|

Seems to me FIFA were trying out using replays :|
 
well they can't stop the game and watch the replay for every decision ref makes
but the refereeing was even worse than in 2002 and i thought that was impossible
