all is ok until................ few hours :x :x :x

what is the reason ?? let me tell you master plumby :

I use for few years to use that sort of material with biconic joint

Plomb-1_2.gif

the good side is that you don't need to do some soldering. I built all my bathroom with that and never had any leak.

and late in the evening, the big bang : a leak under the sink :x :x

and why ?? coz i turned 1/8 of round too much when I clamped :x :x

==> the dark side of this sort of material, too much and it's dead :|

but i changed it now and it's ok :headbang:

but few hours lost :x :x :x

OOOPS Frenchy LOL

We call em compression joints over here.....
And you are correct... tighten em too much and ur in trouble :(

:err: did you get a flood in ur kitchen

Soldering the joints is better though
If it was just the joint on the tap though you probably had no option though 8)

LOL LOL (i know i'm off topic) ok rocky for the compression joints LOL LOL

yeah btw soldering is better and longer in the time just when you know to solder and when you have the material :|

and it's not my job LOL LOL

but i practice the compression joints :err: and it's ok now :headbang:

Sometimes if you have a lot of compression joins in a small area it is
easier to solder though
