1975: TV presenter Ross McWhirter shot dead

Guinness Book of Records co-founder and editor Ross McWhirter has been
shot dead outside his North London home.

Mr McWhirter was hit at close range in the head and chest at 1845 GMT.
He was taken to a local hospital, but died soon after being admitted.

Mr McWhirter edited the Guinness Book of Records with his twin brother,
Norris, and also worked closely with Guinness Director David Hoy, who
said the outspoken critic of the IRA was aware he could be in danger.
 
1974 - John Lennon plays his final concert. Playing at Madison Square Gardens

1990 - Margret Thatcher calls it quits. The rather grey, John Major takes over as Prime Minister.

1994 - American serial killer Jeffrey Dhamer (Murdered at least 17 people)
Was, himself, Murdered by another inmate at the Columbia Correctional Institute. Apparently he was beaten then had a broom stick shoved nearly 3 feet up his ass!!!! :shock:

1975 - Racing Driver Graham Hill (father of Damon Hill) Crashes a light aircraft into trees on a foggy golfcourse. All on board are killed

2001 - Former Beatle 'George Harrison' falls foul of Cancer.

2005 - French Football player David di Tommaso, Dies of heart failure in his bed. He was 26 years old.

1977 - "Alive II" was released by KISS.

1979 - The original four members of KISS performed their last show
together until 1996 when they reunited for a makeup tour.

1982 - Metallica played their first headlining show. They played the
song "Whiplash" for the first time. Exodus was the opening act.

1993 - Metallica released the box set "Live Shit, Binge & Purge." It
contained three CDs, three videos and a book..... It has since been
re-issued as DVD's & CD's
