zidane, trezeguet, everybody in french team were invisible
they could have done nothing
but thuram went on and scored his only goals in career

he never scored after that and probably never will

sadly players were too old to get another chance
boban, asanovic, prosinecki, suker, stimac, bilic, boksic, jarni,..... they were all in their 30's
so we never came close
this team now kinda reminds me a bit of that team
we only need a lethal striker like suker was for one to claim that this team is better than that one that won the bronze in 98

however sadly we didn't compete for euro 92 and for wc94 cause of war
in euro96 ciro screwed us up by playing 2nd team against protuguese in a game which meant nothing to both us(as we already qualified for the quater finals) or to them(cause they were already out)
so in quaters we ended up against germany. refs decided the match
lost 2:1. sammer scored after germans stole the ball with an obvious foul where croatian player got kicked in the face by a german player, croatian player got sent off for no reason
on wc98 thuram got lucky
and by then that generation was too old to do something
shame war screwed them up
most of them were part of yugoslav u21 team that won the world youth cup in chile back in 87
prosinecki was there, voted as the best player on the tournament
boban was there, boksic, suker,......
and then war screwed everything up

sadly he was out of wc98 cause he got injured in the april of that year when he was playing best football in his life. broke his leg out for a year and a half :|

our defence has never been more solid
and our midfield is quite good as well, although loong way to go to get where it was in 98
and attack is the biggest problem
we create a lot of chances but we miss lot of them
we need a striker

when fully fit and in form he was one of the most powerful strikers i have ever seen in my life. not so much of a finisher as suker for instance but much better player overall. couple of classes above suker. he had power, technics everything. he had potential to become one of the best stikers in the world. some of the most amazing runs i have seen in football were by boksic
sadly he was injury prone and injuries destroyed him totaly and he never achieved what he was capable of. when he came to premiership he wasn't the same player anymore. he was finished
