Hey Ryan

Ain't we somewhat older now :wiggle:

I am indeed. Kind of scary, considering I was like 12-14 years old for most of my activity here. LOL

Full on adult now.

Well, technically.

Still having a good laugh at all these old posts. I think this forum and my interactions on it are solely responsible for my good grammar. LOL

Funny story.

I partied a bit too hard in my last year of school and the years that followed. Proper fucked school up.
Got a job in a casino that I worked at for six years, nightshift (which I'm still recovering from LOL).
It eventually broke my spirit enough that I applied for college last year to re-do what I fucked up in school.

So I'm doing that just now, with the hope of getting into Uni next year to do History. Been offered a place at the best Uni in Scotland, so just got to smash these exams and I'll be golden.

Weird how hard work can pay off, eh?

But aye, last year or so have been kind of lifechanging. Back into education, got engaged, getting married. Missus started a full on career. Things are looking good!

Can I just reiterate that working in a casino is fucking awful?

I'll bear that in mind should I ever decide to make a career change LOL
I reckon working nights anywhere would be a bit sucky though :?

Not much changed here really...
Still plumbing....
little_rockin is 12 years old now....
About the same age as you when you first joined here LOL

Glad things are going well for you mate

I still remember when they were baby_rockin!

Glad to hear you're doing well though, man.

And aye, nights are preeeetty shit. Especially in winter. Wake up, it's dark. Go to work, it's dark. Finish work, it's dark. Go to bed, it's dark. I dunno if it's like that down south, but we get 6 hours of grey daylight during winter here, if we're lucky. LOL Not good for the brain!

Seen some shit working there, though, I'll tell you. People just pissing it all away at 4am on a Tuesday. Some brutal stuff. Got some stories! LOL Proper Stockholm syndrome too. Only realise how crazy some if it as after distancing yourself from it.

So you've seen enough to put you off the dark art of gambling then I would hope :)

It's like that when you work daytime here... Go. To work at 7:00 it's dark...
Come home at 5:00 it's staring to get dark again :(

When you gonna do with ur self when you've finished college this time?

School is so much different now...
When I was at school I think my parents went in once a year for parents evening....
Now we seem to be there once every two or three weeks for pointless meetings...
Or pointless talks about something...
Does my head in sometimes when all I wanna do after a hard days work is chill :clansman:

What to do afterwards is kind of up in the air at the moment. Doing History is a labour of love, rather than something that's gonna get me a job at the end. All that there really is to do with a History degree is...teach history. LOL

My missus is a high school teacher, and she loves it. It's kind of appealing to me, but at the same time, if anything else involving the degree were to come up, I'd probably take that instead. LOL

Teenagers, man.

I could always do a post-grad in something with a job at the end, but I'm still undecided on that front. Just want to get the learning part out of the way first!

And yeah, it's the same up here. The other half has to stay late for parents evenings every three months or so. :clansman:
