I had this excellent salmon a few years ago on my birthday. We went to a steakhouse next to the river. I think the salmon was pan-seared? Perfectly cooked and seasoned. It was on a bed of sauteed vegetables and the mashed potatoes they served along with it were amazing too.

I wanted something I couldn't cook myself and the salmon seemed really appealing.

We didn't plan on going to a steakhouse. The place where we were going to have dinner closed unexpectedly and we decided to eat at the next restaurant we found.
