Acoustic & Chipmunk Versions Of Maiden Classics!

Old Thingfish is back again with the next installment of his Maiden Acoustic project! It's taken the best part of a month to record this 9/1/2-minute-long song and it's been a combination of all my instruments: acoustic guitar, acoustic bass, mandolin and my electric guitar played unplugged :) A lot of work has gone into it, but I like to think it's been worth it. I hope you do to, and that you all enjoy it!

Here is....'The Legacy'!!!

i..... like legacy! :)

Yes, it's me, back after a 2 month hiatus brought about by a change in computer from Windows to Mac and subsequent problems in recording, coupled with a desire to spend my time playing Grand Theft Auto IV :) Have you been missing my regular deliveries of Maidenic goodness? :)

Anyway, this time I've returned with another rocker, a fairly simple track to ease my way back into the way of things, but a great song nonetheless!

'Wildest Dreams'!!

You may have been wondering "Where in the heck the latest installment of the long-running Thingfish acoustic Maiden project!?", and well you might! It's (disgracefully) been two months since the last song was finished, and I don't really have too many excuses for the delay except that it had to be just right...and I hope it is!

'Afraid To Shoot Strangers'!!!

Enjoy, and, if you can, please do listen on headphones, as that will give you the best listening experience!

Hey Thingfish, I know I'm probably a 100th person to say this, but you really did one hell of a job with this. I mean, to cover and play so many songs over more than two years, it's amazing...Keep it up.

By the way, one question: Did you play this with someone else, or did you play every single guitar part by yourself, record it and then play it all together? Because I'm also thinking of playing some songs that require two or more guitars, but I only have one :(

And my favorite piece is Genghis Khan

Thankyou very much, Wolfmorgue, it means a lot to me when people like what I've done :) I'm about to start the next track (after an embarrassingly long hiatus of over two months!!) and your comments will help motivate me to get it done a.s.a.p!

No, I played all these tracks on my own, there was no input by anyone else. I therefore recorded each separate instrument and then added in layers of harmonies, background guitars, vocals etc. Most of the tracks ended up being about 20 separate full recordings of the song, probably far more than necessary, but they seemed to work :)

Wow...Well, with your kind of creativity, I believe you should, in time, write some songs of your own, I'm sure they would also be great. In the meantime, I'll make sure some friends of mine hear your Maiden covers :)
