Why?

Motorhead only have one Guitarist, Phil Campbell
Motley Crue only have one guitarist, Mick Mars
I'm fairly sure Hendrix was a lone guitarist
The Who only have Pete townshend
And Led Zep managed to cope with just Jimmy Page on Guitar

Also Dream Theater, Pink Floyd, Rush and a host of many more :D

I think a 2nd guitarist can be good for harmonies and beefing up the rhythm, I think 3 guitarists is ridiculous :| I wish Maiden dropped Janick Gers when Adrian came back :|

Thomen Stauch was the drummer for German Power Metal act Blind
Guardian until April 2005.
Then he was the drummer of the band Savage Circus, who released their
debut album Dreamland Manor in 2005; he also plays drums in Coldseed
with Soilwork frontman Björn "Speed" Strid.
