It's an Essential album from the 80's heavy metal. They invented the metal (PROG-METAL ???) that Dream Theater and many played after them.
It was one of the first concept album in this style. It's about the manipulations of the masses. The album was produced by PETER COLLINS which procudes many great albums (I recommend to you to listen to the album of RUSH 'conterparts'... a master piece).

You must to buy the remastered version of the OPERATION: MINDCRIME' 'cause the original version sounds older

I recommend to you too the album of WASP 'the headless children', and BTW, the Queensryche 'EMPIRE' (a magic album for a technological production)
