Schumi 2nd good race but only second :D

Good  dont you mean excellent :|

If you think through what would have happened if the error in qualifying
didn’t happen, it would have been the perfect day for Ferrari

The sheer speed of the Ferrari F2005 – Schumacher often lapped two full
seconds faster than anyone else – served as a dramatic wake-up call for
the Italian team’s rivals, including the dominant Renault.

Fuckin adverts :x

ITV has accepted responsibility for the late advertisement break during
yesterday's live coverage of the San Marino Grand Prix.

ITV is contracted to run five advert sequences during the broadcast and
delayed the final one in the hope of being able to show Michael
Schumacher catching and passing Fernando Alonso.

Eventually time ran out and the ad break was run early enough to ensure
that the last lap was shown live.

"We are contracted to advertisers who pay top dollar and this plays an
important part in keeping Formula 1 on terrestrial television.

"We delayed the final break because we gambled Michael would catch and
overtake Fernando before the end."

A press spokesman for ITV sport, Mark Whittle, explained that there is no
specific plan for when advert breaks should be shown, and that ITV tries
to ensure that they are placed at the least sensitive moments during the race.

“There is no scientific method to it – we try to put them in at the least
contentious point of the race,” he said.

“We took a break with three laps to go just as Michael Schumacher was
battling with Fernando Alonso and we came back before the final lap.
There had been no change in position."

Button 3rd

A dodgy 3rd

British ace Jenson Button will keep his third place in the San Marino Grand
Prix despite the fact his BAR-Honda was found to be underweight in post-
race checks.

The official results for the Imola race were not released until six hours
after the event had finshed as the race stewards deliberated over the
matter.

"Immediately following the end of the race the car was weighed in the
configuration it had finished and was above the minimum weight limit," the
stewards said in a statement from the FIA.

"It was subsequently drained of fuel and then re-weighed and found to be
underweight."

But despite the combined weight of Jenson Button and the BAR 007
chassis being below the 600kg minimum when the car was empty of fuel,
the stewards apparently accepted the team's explanation for this.

Got away with it then.........

This may not however be the end of the matter as the FIA may see fit to
investigate the matter at a later date, if it feels the regulations have been
breached deliberately.

For now

Bernie Ecclestone’s bid to broker a change to Formula 1’s qualifying
format seems to have hit an early stumbling block after Renault boss
Flavio Briatore revealed that he is opposed to any change for the time
being.

Ecclestone is understood to have lost patience with the 2005 format, which
aggregates lap times from two sessions, believing that the system is too
complicated and has robbed qualifying of much of its drama.

:x :x :x Fuckin Flavio Briatore

I wonder why he likes the qualifying :|

Paul Stoddart has to get best F1 quote of the year! LOL .....

“We have made too many changes to qualifying over successive years and it has been going backwards.

“This year we went from the sublime to the ridiculous and cranked in Sunday morning qualifying – gee, that’s really popular – and aggregate times just to really mess it all up
