1. Why did I buy it? I have every song on it (in the version presented).
So, why did I buy it?
Because I just had to!
Iron Maiden is my ultimate favorite band, and I love them, that's why!!!

2. If 'A Matter Of Life And Death' were included, which two songs would you say that they choose to offer?


I would say, for album representation sake:
a.) 'For The Greater Good Of God'
b.) 'The Legacy'

altho my favs are 'Different World', 'Benjamin', and 'The Legacy'.

what say you?

coz it's a good chronological best of :banana: and btw coz it's a one more cd in my Maiden's collection :D

IMO

Nothing off that album is good enough to be on a best of, hardly any of it is memorable!

I've not even got AMOLAD, let alone The 'Essential' Iron Maiden!

What in the world are YOU doing on an Iron Maiden forum?
 
Because I used to enjoy their old stuff and now I'm here because I consider the locals good friends of mine, and I've met most of them

Problem?

I don't know Ben, there are quite a good number of tracks on the essential collection. If you take a look at the tracks you have:

Fear Of The Dark
The Evil That Men Do
Wasted Years
Heaven Can Wait
2 Minutes To Midnight
Aces High
Flight Of Icarus
The Trooper
The Number Of The Beast
Run To The Hills

So there's quite a few decent tracks on there. I guess the problem is we have all listened to those tracks a lot, so we are guilty of becoming a bit blasé about them

No problem at all, once a fan always a fan, it just seemed that you were "misplaced" is all.

I think that you are very right about that!!!
In addition, I've heard them sooooooooo many times, the magic has lost it's fair-dust-sparkle.
But, I shelve them and pull them out on very special occation for a isolated listen - which turns out to be a very blissful event.


I very, very rarely "listen" to the 'Essential' cd, I bought it for the newness of it, and for the new photo's.

I noticed that most people are only commenting on weather they made a purchase or not, so, I added a poll to get votes for which songs from 'AMOLAD' would be chosen.

It's only allowing one choice!!!
I couldn't find a setting for "multiple", but, that will work.
