I think its time for flight of icarus... :)

Im just thinking what could be a great opening song on the nex tour....and I really cant find a strong and cool opening song from the first 4 albums..... :(

i think that these is not a good opener.....no power, no speed. For me the best opening songs are be quick or be dead, aces high, futureal....you know, songs like these....

Yeah, sure I can understand you. But still I feel like WED is pretty good. But they could also start with The Ides of March/Wratchild? :)

There won't be just songs from the first 4 albums and this is my prediction:

Ides of March (PA)
Wrathchild
The Trooper
Revelations
Brave New World
Can i play with madness
Phantom of the opera
Dance of death
The Prisoner
Hallowed be thy name
Fear of the dark
Iron Maiden

The Number of the beast
Sanctuary
Run to the hills
Running Free

Here's instead what i'd like to hear (trying to be realistic)

Intro: Maiden instrumentals through PA
1)Murders in the rue Morgue (Where Eagles Dare second choice)
2)Wrathchild
3)Revelations
4)The Wicker Man
5)Killers
6)Phantom of the opera
7)1 song from Dod
8)22 Acacia Avenue
9)Children of the damned
10)Remember tomorrow
11)Hallowed be thy name
12)The Number of the Beast
13)Fear of the dark
14)Iron Maiden

15)Where Eagles Dare
16)The Prisoner
17)Prowler (if they drop run to the hills)
18)Running Free

for me the best open song is The Wicker man, but wicker man isn't on this tour so maybe the best open-song is trooper or the number of the beast, even they never play trooper for the opening :|

HALLOWED??????

Here are my thoughts about Maidens setlist for the European leg of the tour.

Lets take all songs from the first four albums Maiden already played live as a six-piece since 1999.

Those are:

01. Running Free
02. Phantom Of The Opera
03. Sanctuary (although not on the original album it's from that era)
04. Iron Maiden
----------------------------
05. Wrathchild
06. Killers
----------------------------
07. Children Of The Damned
08. 22 Acacia Avenue
09. The Number Of The Beast
10. Run To The Hills
11. Hallowed Be Thy Name
----------------------------
12. Revalations
13. Die With Your Boots On
14. The Trooper

So, that are 14 songs from the "Early Days" they WILL play (IMO) and that will take the guys about 1h 25min to go through.

I'm quite shure they will open their shows with the most recent opener:

15. Wildest Dreams

that is. It's not from Early Days, but I'm shure they will use this to make the connection between now and then. (Great opener IMO!)

And I'm quite shure that they will play

16. Fear Of The Dark

as this one has been and definitly will be in the set of any Iron Maiden show since 1992.

So that makes 16 songs that will take about 1h 40 min to be played.

Personally I don't think the show will be any longer than about 1h 45min as they did that during the Dance Of Death tour already.

So maybe these 16 songs are it. Take Run To The Hills, Sanctuary and Running Free for encores and sort the others the way you like and you have the set for 2005!

Not that it wouldn't be awesome shows with an awesome setlist! My personal point is, that I already heard all those songs live over the years and I'm looking forward to some songs I didn't have the pleasure to hear live yet.

So Steve, Dave, Adrian, Janick, Nicko & Bruce: Ad some Drifter, Purgatory and The Prisoner to the above mentioned and I'm even more happy with the set.

But, what the heck...! Nevertheless I'll definitly enjoy their setlists and shows, whatever they'll play.
Even if they'd play the Muppets Show Theme 20 times in a row, i'd enjoy them doing it.

UP THE IRONS!
