There's a place called the Museum of Broken Relationships. Two locations, I think. They're full of stories and objects from relationships that ended, often badly.

There's one story in particular that is horrific. A now 70 year old woman from Armenia had a postcard that was given to her long ago, from the neighbor's son. He loved her and following along with tradition, his parents asked her parents if he could marry her. Her parents said the neighbor's son did not deserve her and that night the neighbor's son drove his car off a cliff.
This lady's parents were absolute dicks
