My next question - Why is the palm-nut vulture (Gypohierax angolensis) so-called?

This vulture gets its name from its favourite food, which, uniquely for a bird of prey, is not meat, but the nut of the Oil Palm. It will also take dead fish.

Correct answer.
The palm-nut vulture gets its name from its habit of feeding on oil palm nuts instead of meat.

Here's an easier one:
Name the Greek god identified with Vulcan, the Roman god of metalwork.

In Roman religion, Vulcan is the god of beneficial and hindering fire,
including the fire of volcanoes. He is also called Mulciber ("smelter") in
Roman mythology and Sethlans in Etruscan mythology. He was
worshipped at an annual festival on August 23 known as the Vulcanalia.

His Greek name is Hephaestus.
