Iranian New Year (No Ruz) tomorrow

Cultural background: http://www.payvand.com/ny/massoume.html

"...Bon fires are made and all people will jump over the fire on the last Tuesday of the year. This is a purification rite and Iranians believe by going over the fire they will get rid of all their illnesses and misfortunes..."

I remember that part now :)

Fireworks aren't allowed?! WTF?! How do you celebrate New Years' Eve? :?
I know it's going to be weird but there is almost no fireworks on new year's eve.
You can see a very good show on july 4 - it's organized by Macy's (i think) and it has to be actually approved by the city. even on july 4 very few ppl have fireworks on their own.
Welcome to America

I watch it on TV. No way you'll get me to freeze my ass off in Times Square.

Would YOU like it to be? :P

I don't really care about NY, X-Mas, my birthday or any other special days :)

Last NYE I was at my mates house where we saw a couple of DVD's and had Chinese food LOL Think that was the best NYE I've ever had actually :?
