Champions League 2009 - 2010

One of the biggest bands in the world Oasis celebrated Liverpool's
Champions League victory in fine style by walking out to their gig in
London with the anthem 'You'll Never Walk Alone' on Wednesday night.

Oasis played the Coronet theatre in London on Wednesday night but they
didn't come on stage until Liverpool had beaten AC Milan. Instead of
having a support band brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher got a big screen
up on stage for fans to watch the match.

There was an amazing atmosphere in the Coronet with fans cheering
Liverpool and the band saluted the Reds achievement by scrapping their
normal introduction song and instead came on to Liverpool's anthem 'You'll
Never Walk Alone', bathed in red light.

Then for the first song of the set Oasis singer Liam Gallagher saluted
Liverpool and dedicated 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out' to the AC Milan fans!

Speaking before the gig Noel Gallagher told NME.com: "The gig was sold
out and I said, 'Instead of getting a support band, why don't we get a big
screen and stick it in the middle of the stage so everyone can watch the
game. Then we'll play after the game and get a late curfew'. They all went
for it, so we hired a big cinema thing."

 And they dont even support Liverpool they are big Manchester City fans

:fist: For you Oasis

Benitez says it is purely down to common sense and has asked UEFA to
allow his team to defend their title of European champions.

Benitez said: "Winning the Champions League with Liverpool was the
biggest night of my life in football. It was fantastic. The champions must
defend the title. I was thinking the other day that if you go to play the
European Super Cup and play the Inter-Continental Cup and you are not
in the Champions League that is not common sense."

Easy solution then...............
If UEFA wont budge give em the big :suck:

Tell em to find someone else to go play the European Super Cup &
the Inter-Continental Cup (which fucks up our league campaign anyway)

Dietmar Hamann has revealed the agony he went through to keep
Liverpool's Champions League dreams on track by taking a penalty
against AC Milan with a fractured right foot.

Hamann netted Liverpool's first penalty in the shoot-out to give the Reds
the advantage after Serginho had blazed Milan's first effort high over the
goal.

But he has astonishingly revealed feeling a pain in his right foot towards
the end of extra time which was later diagonsed as being caused by a
small fracture.

The European Cup is now sporting a dent after it was dropped during
celebrations by Liverpool FC players.

The famous trophy, which now belongs to the club after it won the title for
the fifth time, has a slight dent on one of the handles.

It is currently on display in the club museum, at Anfield stadium, but there
are no plans to get it fixed.

Museum curator Steve Done said: "We decided not to get it repaired
because it is part of the character of the cup."
The damage reportedly occurred when striker Milan Baros accidentally
dropped the cup during celebrations at the team hotel in Istanbul.

Liverpool won the cup last Wednesday, after coming back from 3-0 down
against favourites AC Milan.

The UEFA Champions League holders Liverpool FC will compete in next season's UEFA Champions League first qualifying round.

Right to defend
The UEFA Executive Committee decided to amend the regulations for the future editions of the Champions League, so that the holders will have the right to defend their title and therefore qualify automatically. At the same time, the number of clubs allowed per national association will remain stable based on coefficient ranking.

Exceptional decision
Exceptionally, for the upcoming season, the Executive Committee today decided to allow the current Champions League holders to defend their title. The UEFA Executive Committee also decided that:

- Liverpool would enter the competition in the first qualifying round, to be played on 12/13 and 19/20 July, with the draw taking place on 24 June.
- There will be no country protection for Liverpool.
- Liverpool will be included in the English market pool share with the status of lowest-placed English club.
