now thinking

Today I remembered an artisan who I was following for a while but just disappeared.

Back in 2016, when I was in charge of my shitty old job's Etsy shop, there was a featured article about this up-and-coming new shop. It was run by a young woman living way out in rural Scotland who didn't have much money but scraped together enough to start making jewelry. Her story was way cool. She was very resourceful and she'd hunt for most of her gems out in nature. Her photography was great and her love for it all clearly showed through.

I kept any eye on her shop because I wanted to buy something eventually. I noticed after a while she seemed to have trouble keeping up with demand. Her reviews started to slip and it looked like she needed to extend times for making and shipping. Then she just vanished. The shop instagram is still up and nobody has posted on it in 6 years. She had shut down her Etsy shop before that, but her website also disappeared. I'm wondering if something happened or if it was too much pressure.

Her stuff was very pretty and I'm kicking myself a little for not buying something when I had the chance. Also wondering what ended it all.

We're only halfway through August but it does feel like summer's ending. The temperature has dropped a little. Some of my coworkers left to go back to college.

Thinking about going in to see if my one earlobe piercing is still viable. It looks like there's a hole but I can't see if it goes all the way through. I stopped wearing earrings because they were constantly getting infected but I found some cool looking ones recently and it got me wondering
