Hello All I am new to the board
Ok so my daughter happens to be a fan of iron maiden, and shes begging me to take her this october when they come to new york
im a little apprehensive, i want to know what kind of atmosphere it is, while i have heard iron maiden and they arent total mosh music, they're opening act might be, or there just might be losers who decide to get become violent
see its just going to be me and my girl if we go, and i want to know what kind of atmosphere, two women at a metal concert, because if its just too eh idk i wouldnt take her
or is it a fun atmosphere?
please help

thanks in advance

You may be better off in the seating area for ur first time
But its a great atmosphere and not too many a$$holes around
You better get ur tix fast though....
If they still got any

Hi, and welcome.

I agree with rockin its probabaly best to go for seated tickets first. The atmosphere is, from my experience, extremely friendly if a little boisterous at times.

But its all very good natured and there are a lot of people who take their kids to the concerts. Everyone keeps their eye's open to make sure none of them get squished at the front and stuff. I wouldn't recommend you take her anwhere near the front as it can get a bit "tight"

In fact several of us went to see them in Iceland last year and where at the front of the hall. I'm 6 foot and 17 Stone in weight and i can tell you i didn't like it very much. Funnily enough, and Wicker Nomad can confirm this, most of the "crowd preasure" there came from 8 - 12 year old Icelandic kids who where going banana's behind us

Wicker Nomad has taken her son with her to see a load of concerts and he always has a great time. I guess it depends which concert and therefore venue, you are taking her to see them? The "busy" places to look out for her are of course the merchandise stands, it can get a bit crowded there and also around the bar area (which i guess you probably wont be spending too much time at :) )

I think the pair of you will have a great time :)

i took my son two times for madien's gig (the 3rd time will be on next november  ) and he really enjoyed them. as well , we were seat for more confort (coz i'm a lazy cow now :err:) and it's more pleasant to see all the stage things 8) and btw coz in front of the stage, you pass your time to try to stand up LOL LOL

enjoy the show

Like Bocky said i've taken Luke to a load of concerts , his first one was when he was nearly 10 I think, he had the time of his life :D I enjoyed watching his reaction almost as much as the show! I'd say go for seating too, Luke's 13 now and i've still booked us seats...nothing to do with me being short :err: He stands on his seat and jumps about like an idiot, has a great time :D
We've never had any trouble, the opposite!...Luke had a few people say to him what a cool mum he's got 8) LOL The one time that could have been a problem (they shut the gates outside Earls Court to let fire engines through) One great lady bellowed "small person, give them space" Next thing I knew me and Luke had a huge clear circle round us 8) Maiden fans are the best

atmospher is awesome, and iron maiden's concerts are safer than most of the bands nowadays

i've decided to take her
again thank you all!
