i came up with an idea for the board and told jon about it
he said to ask you to see if there would be any interest in it
now we all must agree that general chat is a spammer's promised land. most of the threads get turned off topic after a while and lets face it serious discussion cant be made under this curcuumstances
so my idea is to create a new forum for serious discussions about everything from nonmaiden related to music, to politics, philosophical discussions about important issues whatever you feel should be discussed seriously
to secure that potential new forum from turning to new spam center strict rules should be enforced upon it
i think that this new forum may bring new users that want to engage in serious discussions.
so please state your opinions about it

Sounds like a good idea, as long as there are clear guidelines for people to follow in this new forum area.

Its seems a good idea but basically what you are admitting is the general
chat mods aint doing their job properly :err:

I'm sure there must be rules somewhere about threads in GC going off
topic etc etc, its just we aint the 'gestapo mods' like on other BB's I could
mention :|

If you want us to delete every off topic post or spam post here from now
on we could do that :evil:

I dont get to flex my moderator muscle much anyway unless it is summit

look nobody's blaming nobody
all i meant by suggesting this is that we need a place where we could talk about stuff in serious way without having to browse back a whole lot when we come back cause other threads containg mostly spam and chitchat have thrown it back to god knows which page
i enjoy a nice chitchat as much as anybody but i also sometimes like to engage in serious discussion
 
It can be a good idea but I will pass hours to try to understand :( :( :(

depends
sometimes serious discussins can turn into fights
 
I know in quite a few forums I've been into, we've had the serious discussion, we spoke everything from bush to "grape soda"


the only thing that could be wrong if we started doing political differences and religious theorys ... lurkers might never join becuase they don't know us and out sarcasim... take MM for example, he says stuff that offends every race of people, if you didn't know him, you'd take it offencivley


I don't give a shit technically, just be careful what you say.

I don't think he only means "serious" talk. If someone starts thread about "orange juice" it should be only about that, not to start talking about weather after 3-4 pages.

I reissue this good thread cause I think it's a really good idea from MM ( :x why didn't I have it earlier (maybe coz i'm french :P )).

We could speak about real serious things about many subjects
Example : Europe (the vote of Spain and abstention)
The place of China in the future world economy
History
and many more........

I hope Jon will read this and will do the better he can and what does he think about that

MM rules :oops:
