On the live version of Passeandale

My dad is a teacher, and is thinking of using Maiden's song Passendael for a Remembrance Day activity. I own the album Death on the Road which he could use. A poem is recited at the begining of the song, and he was wondering what it was, if it was original or old, and who wrote it.

It's from Wilfred Owen's "Anthem for Doomed Youth" poem. You can find it with Google without problem.

The guy who wrote the poem was born in the town I live in, theres a plaque on a wall near my house with that poem on, a few years ago walking passed it I thought "Where do I recognise that from?!" and I realised it was used on the Death On The Road tour!

Interesting eh :P
