Hey folks,

Sorry if this has already been done to death, but couldn't find the threads if it has!!!

I'm off up to Birmingham tomorrow night to see the boys play, taking my little sister for her first Maiden gig (don't even want to go into how many gigs I've been to, makes me feel old!!!)

However, being a Londoner, who will be staying near Worcester and knows nothing about the NEC or Birmingham, I've stumped about how to get there. So here are some questions for any local folks who might have an idea!!!

What do you think parking will be like? I see the NEC has 20,000 parking spaces, but I've got no idea how many people are going to the gig. The NEC website also says a car park is closed at the moment...

How much does parking cost?

If either of the above is bad, the other option I'm told about is to get a lift to Birmingham airport, where they've got a free shuttle bus which takes two minutes to get to the station, which is on the NEC complex. Does that sound like a plan to anyone who knows the area? Or will I get arrested and shot to death at Birmingham Airport for not having a boarding pass? :P

How are other people getting up there? I see the doors open at 6, but was thinking of trying to get there for about 4pm...

Ugh, all this hassle when I'm seeing them in Earl's Court in a couple of weeks anyway!!!

Cheers in advance for any advice that sets this ginger bloke's mind at ease!!!

Ive been to the NEC a few times, and always got the train, get the train to Birmingham International and just follow the leather and Iron Maiden t shirts :P

Cheers guys!

Have to say, I'm really looking forward to this one after missing out on the Early Days and DoD tours over the last couple of years!

Like you say, it's always reassuring when you get off the train and the Maiden colours are everywhere, you feel like shouting "I'm HOME!!!" :D

Cheers!
