Yes, but you got Gamma Ray where the UK got Funeral for a Friend..

It is not important what is down, but what is up ...

"new" more like since the start of January this year. But I agree, the new host is pretty good..

IMBB is down again (April 18th 2005)

They do have an unusual amount of problems. A stable Linux/Apache/PHP/MySQL server should be able to do a year or more of continuous uptime if properly maintained (and downtime shouldnt affect the contents of the server) Makes me wonder if they couldnt do with someone coming in with knowledge...

What do you think about MP3 downloading?

Another thing I'd like to add is the distinction between "downloading" and mp3. I buy CD's then turn them into MP3's. I have to , because I have an iPod, and thats how I choose to listen to my music. According to the law, thats probably stealing, but in my eyes its fair use, so blah...

    Text files -- 1982.05.15, 1988.06.21

Posting them here for now is no real problem, Google indexes the threads anyway so they might pop up on relevant searches when looking for bootleg information. Just my :2c: though

What do you think about MP3 downloading?

I download stuff on MP3 all the time, to discover new and good music. If songs from a specfic album start getting onto my "Top 100 Most Played" or I find I'm generally listening to them a lot I usually buy the CD and rip it to replace my downloaded MP3's. I see downloading music as a quality...

Maybe Skunk got fired and she deliberately deleted IMBB?

Its all about volume. This board does a couple of hundred posts a day. The official board would probably be in the thousands. That board must be a great drain on resources considering they have no revenue from it, as it has a vast amount of users and traffic. Obviously, our model is slightly...

Maybe Skunk got fired and she deliberately deleted IMBB?

I think I've posted here before about how impressed I am that the IMBB manages to stay up as long as it does. MySQL + PHP aren't the most stable things in the world, and vBulletin isnt stretched to those limits often. Maiden World is bigger than most non-official english boards now, and even...

    which skin maidenworld or subsilver

I can, but it takes effort, so I usually dont. The admin CP gives me some general statistics.. Number of posts: 40577 Posts per day: 143.14 Number of topics: 1387 Topics per day: 4.89 Number of users: 1819 Users per day: 6.42 Board started: Tue Jul 29, 2003 12:35 pm Avatar...

    which skin maidenworld or subsilver

Interesting. I put subsilver on as a choice for people who dont like the fixed width nature of the normal theme, and also from when the Maiden Finland board people spent a while here. I wasnt aware many people were actively using it, I dont even know if it displays adverts, since I only...

what are you doing right now

No, just it will go really slow when the thread gets big enough. (It will have ot filter through all the posts to grab the one for the specific page). Doesnt seem to be any kind of problem at the current size though, which is nice.

    IMBB members ....

I'm always up for new maiden world suggestions. My contact details are spread around the site, and theres a convenient Contact Form too. It just takes me a while to get round to implementing some of them

what are you doing right now

This thread is impressive, simply because it contains like 5,800 replies right now. I thought phpBB would break after a couple of thousand. My page footer says the following: Page generation time: 0.8376s (PHP: 27% - SQL: 73%) - SQL queries: 13 - Debug off So its still well within the...

how can i make summin an avatar or how many pixels is it?

I'm not sure if this was the kind of thing you're talking about, but I'll attempt an answer to this one. I may be completely off track though.. It depends on what type of IP blocks your using. If you've got DHCP assignment of IP's you should be able to change your subnet to like 255.255.0.0...

    Help again!!

Run AdAware to remove existing spyware. Possibly also Spybot Search & Destroy to be on the safe side (that download didnt work when i linked it, although it might in a couple of hours). Consider switching to Mozilla Firefox to solve the spyware and popup issues altogether Its a better browser...
