Acoustic & Chipmunk Versions Of Maiden Classics!

Up to track 90 now, and with it comes yet another all-time classic that has never been played live! Now they have three guitarists and an upcoming tour covering Powerslave, Maiden have no excuse whatsoever not to play this most wonderfully brilliant song...

'The Duellists'!!!

Back with another Maiden track based on a classic movie. This one took ages to record as I had to go up in a helicopter to get all the effects for the intro and outro...Bloody expensive business, I can tell you, but it's all in the name of art! LOL

'The Edge Of Darkness'!!!

:shock: :eek: :shock:

"Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears;
I come to bury Thingfish, not to praise him.
The Evil That Men Do lives after them;
The good is oft interred with their bones;
So let it be with Thingfish!"

~ William Shakespeare, 'Julius Caesar', Act III, Scene II

I should maybe have done this next track at the very start of this project. It is, after all, the classic pre-show song used to get the crowd fired up before the boys hit the stage, so hopefully it will fire you up to listen to the rest of my tracks! :eek: What else could it be, but...

'Doctor, Doctor'!!

Well, I've finally reached the milestone of song number 100 in my acoustic Maiden project and it's a relief to have gotten this far and (hopefully) consistently better since I began back in March 2006. I felt it necessary to go for an absolute classic Maiden song to mark this centenary, but also one that had a bit of gravitas and serious critical acclaim behind it. This was probably the most involved of any of the Maiden tracks I've done so far and included a good bit of researching for war and battle sound effects to flesh out the whole piece, such as cannon fire, explosions and falling shells. I like to think it's come together rather well, and I really hope you will too. Please do listen to it on headphones if you are able, as they are a number of little nuances that only ever seem to come out well on those :)

Without further ado, please enjoy song number 100, the wonderful...

'Paschendale'!!!

As always, you can listen to it at http://www.putfile.com/thingfishy but it is already available for download at http://www.notb.org/thingfish

Many thanks to everyone who has encouraged me through this project thus far and I hope you'll continue until I've conquered every Maiden track!

It is naturally very difficult to follow a track like Paschendale in any situation, but especially when all you have left to work with, if you are to follow the pattern of 'one Bruce song, one Blaze song' like I have been, is one original B-side and two cover songs :) I have, however done my best, and like this next track all the same :D It is Steve's first direct criticism of modern society which only just didn't make it onto The X Factor due to time limitation...it is the excellent...

'Justice Of The Peace'
